Sub: Subscription of MD Consult online database at the Health Sciences Library

This is for the kind information of all the Faculty Members, Postgraduate and Undergraduate Students that the MD Consult online database (http://www.mdconsult.com/) has been subscribed at the KMC Health Sciences Library, Manipal University, Manipal and same can be accessed in intranet environment any where in the Manipal University Campus at Manipal through the Health Sciences Library micro site i.e. http://www.maheinfo.edu/lib/index.asp.

MD Consult is one of the most efficient tools available to physicians today, putting a breadth of highly respected, current clinical resources at their fingertips. MD Consult brings the leading medical resources together into one integrated online service to help physicians efficiently find answers to pressing clinical questions and make better treatment decisions. A service of Elsevier Science Publisher, MD Consult operates a family of electronic information resources that meet the clinical content needs of physicians and other health care professionals. The site is designed to meet the exacting needs of clinical practitioners, providing practical and time-saving features that users could quickly access the precise information they need.

MD Consult core collection contains 53 Journals and 35 Clinics of North America (Full text access from 1996 onwards) and 51 Reference Books. Apart from journals and books, it contains latest news in the field of Medicine, 30,000 Drug Databases, more than 1000 Practice Guidelines, and 10,000 Patient Handouts as well.

All the faculty members and students are hereby requested to make use of this online database.
